Yeah, we'll have to agree to disagree. But even if, for the sake of argument, we say that actresses crave all these things (!), I still see no need to heap abuse on them. Wanting sex is ok by me - even lots of it. And my only point re "patently specious" was that a specious argument is by definition *one whose error is not obvious*, so "obviously specious" is...problematic. :) Happy NY.

Is a man who fucks hundreds of partners a slut, and, if so, why don't we hear him called names for it? If it's given any attention at all, at least by men, I think there's admiration, not disdain. But simply saying "that's what a slut is" ignores the fact that you *could* just say "actress," "porn star" "female talent," even just "girl" (since the fact that it's porn is obvious without comment). Instead derogatory terms are used. Someone using the N-word is not *mistaken* about the race of the person he's insulting; THAT is hardly the point. It's that he's chosen a hate-word when he clearly didn't have to.

If something is "patently" specious -- then it isn't specious at all. Right? In any case, I was thinking that what made guys think the stars loved it is that they are forever saying "I love it" in the scenes, which actually would be fairly analogous to the "legitimate" actor. But if that's not the reason men have convinced themselves that girls truly enjoy licking their own feces off men's dicks, may I ask what *is* the argument? Simply the fact that they do it? I think lots of people get in jobs they don't like, and when you haven't a lot of marketable skills and you're being paid easily ten times what you otherwise would, THAT, rather than "insatiable" desire to get brutally throat-fucked, would be the motivation for doing it....

Just incidentally, If "performing sexual acts gratis" is the definition of a slut, doesn't that mean that every single woman is either or whore, a slut, or a virgin? And every man as well? I mean, talk about damned if you do and damned if you don't! If she charges, we look down on her. If she doesn't charge...we look down on her. Kind of a stacked deck, no?

To be honest, I always find those "She loves it" comments bizarrely naive. I always feel like the people who actually think that (most of the time) are probably not all that great in bed. I really don't believe that most of these actresses have insatiable sexual appetites any more than I believe that an actor that plays terrorists all the time is in reality itching to destroy democracy (speaking of the mixing of fantasy and reality). I really don't see any reason to look down on the actresses at all. I also note that scorn is not heaped on the male talent, who are generally doing the same thing for considerably less money. So it's more than just language - it's when we feel the need to be abusive, regardless of the language.

Even by porn standards, that's gotta be the least catchy title ever.

I've said some variation on this before, but I really think it's totally fucking hilarious that there's someone out there whose job it is to watch porn and say what's in it (the niches)...and even *that* is apparently so beyond challenging that they pretty consistently fuck up! I mean, if you don't even know what "blonde" means...maybe this really isn't the job for you!
